What is the Ultraceuticals difference?

Ultraceuticals is proudly Australian made and owned. Our formulas have been developed to target skin concerns that are a result of one of the harshest climates in the world. The range is a popular in salon choice amongst many skin technicians and clinic owners.

Does Ultraceuticals conduct any product testing on animals?

No, Ultraceuticals is proudly certified cruelty free with the organisation Choose Cruelty Free. Look for this globally recognised stamp on Ultraceuticals products.
Ultraceuticals conducts internal clinical trials on willing human participants. If you are based in Sydney and would like to participate in our future product trials please contact us

What does the term ‘Cosmeceutical’ mean?

The difference between a ‘cosmetic’ product and a ‘cosmeceutical’ is that cosmetic products contain low levels of potent ingredients (or no potent ingredients at all), while cosmeceuticals contain higher levels of potent ingredients, and often combine several powerful ingredients together. A cosmetic product may maintain the condition of your skin by providing temporary results. Cosmeceutical formulations have the ability to bring about visible changes to the skin when used as directed and with the right advice of one of our trained skin technicians.
Ultraceuticals is a true cosmeceutical.

Why is an Ultraceuticals Skin Consultation recommended when purchasing my skincare products?

A: Ultraceuticals products contain a high percentage of potent ingredients at varying strengths. We know that your prescription will be most effective when prescribed by an Ultraceuticals Skin Technician after they have understood your underlying trigger factors and analysed your skins current tolerance level. Without the assistance of a Qualified Ultraceuticals Skin Technician, you may select products which aren’t suitable for your skin type. We would always recommend a customised prescription that has been custom built for your individual skin in order to achieve the best possible end result.

What is the shelf life on Ultraceuticals products?

Our products have been tested to have a shelf life of a minimum of 30 months. However our therapeutic sunscreens, which are all registered with TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), have a shelf life of between2 to 3 years. Once a product is opened, we recommend that it should be used within 6 months.

How soon will I start seeing results from using Ultraceuticals products?

A: Some products can deliver immediate skin improvements. Some clients have reported seeing results the very first time they use the products. Most say their skin looks more hydrated, smoother and appears more revitalized and healthy. However, if you are looking to target longer-term skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation, photo ageing or acne you will need a minimum of 90 days to see real visible results. It is important that you follow the prescribed home care and treatment plan prescribed by your professional skin technician in order to optimise your results and ensure you start off with the correct prescription strength.

Can I use Ultraceuticals products every day?

Our 'cleanse’, ‘moisturise’ and ‘protect’ products can be used daily without needing to precondition your skin. However, we suggest our ‘Treat’ category products be introduced slowly to the skin, starting with every alternate day or night for one (1) month gradually building to daily use as tolerated. Always apply SPF 30 or higher during the day when using Ultraceuticals treatment products.
Always follow the directions of your skin technician and consultant and always read the label and warnings on pack.

Can I use the Concentrate strength serums straight away?

Many of the Ultraceuticals treatment ranges are designed in a stepped system with a progressively higher level of the potent ingredients in each level, so that your skin becomes accustomed to the product before you introduce a higher strength product. This helps avoid adverse skin responses to the potent ingredients. Our Ultra A Skin Perfecting Serum (&Concentrate) and our Even SkintoneSerum (&Concentrate) should only be used once your skin has become accustomed to the Mild strength serums in the range. Please consult your local Ultraceuticals Expert clinic or David Jones counter representative to discuss your specific skin concerns before using these products.

Is there a specific way to apply the eye creams?

Yes, you should only apply a small amount around the eye area, taking care not to apply too close to the eye and avoiding the eyelid. Start from the arch of the eyebrow and gently spread out toward the temple, then continue under the eye, along the orbital bone towards the bridge of the nose. Application of treatment eye products such as the Ultra A Perfecting Eye Cream and Ultra C Firming Eye Cream is suggested to be applied once a day to the eye area on alternate days for one (1) month, gradually building to daily use as tolerated.

Some Ultraceuticals Mineral Defence sunscreen products do contain ingredients at the nano-scale, this is necessary to achieve a high SPF factor whilst maintaining a great overall skin feel.
